  • The Sebel-Kirkton Park is the conference venue.
  • Accommodation is at the Sebel-Kirkton Park and at Peppers Guest House. The Sebel-Kirkton Park is a rural retreat-like venue out in the country. Accommodation is essential on the nights of March 24, 25 and 26.
  • The Pre-Conference Imaging Workshop, begins at 12 noon on Tuesday 24th March, directly preceding the 2009 Hunter Meeting. The Imaging Workshop is held in the Hunter Room at Kirkton Park. Workshop sessions begin with a light lunch and continue through until 6:30pm.  The early Shuttle leaves at 9:00am.
  • The 8th Hunter Cellular Biology Meeting begins on Tuesday 24th March, with a Welcome Reception, and dinner at 7:00pm followed by the Keith Stanley Lecture, and concludes with lunch on Friday 274th March. Millennium Science are again presenting the Workshop in the main Hunter Meeting Program.
  • International and interstate delegates: Please organise your travel connections to meet the Airport Shuttle. Details here

Please note that preference for on-site accommodation is given to those selecting shared accommodation. Conference accommodation is booked with your registration. The Conference Hotels are the Sebel- Kirkton Park or Peppers Guest House. Includes full Hunter Country Breakfast at The Sebel-Kirkton Park. 

Single Room: AUD180/person/night

Twin-share room (two people accommodated in the room) AUD:110/person/night

  • Accommodation is at Kirkton Park or Peppers Guest House.
  • For the purposes of shared-accommodation, the core nights of the conference are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Twin Room means that two delegates are accommodated in the room - you may choose your own room-sharing partner, or one can be chosen for you, same gender, same nights where possible.
  • Where no other delegate requests the same accommodation nights, the room reverts to single rate for the extra nights. You will be notified after close of Early-Bird registration, if there is an additional amount to pay for accommodation falling outside the core conference nights.
  • There is an intervenue shuttle for those staying at Peppers
  • On Wednesday and Thursday, the Inter-Venue shuttle will operate twice daily collecting mornings from Peppers, returning after lunch, collecting again late afternoon and returning at night.

The Sebel-Kirkton Park is situated in the country. Pokolbin is 3 1/2 hours north of Sydney in the magnificent wine-growing region of the Hunter Valley.

For international /interstate travellers, please be sure to organise flights to connect with the Shuttle service.  The Conference Shuttle transport or your own/hired car is essential transport. See Shuttle page

  • Everyone entering Australia is required to have valid travel documentation - visa and passport (required documents).
  • If travelling from overseas, it is important that your visa application is made well in advance of anticipated travel time. Please check carefully with your travel agent to confirm all visa details.

    1. How to apply for a Visa. Depending on your circumstance, you may apply for a Business (456) or Tourist visa.
    2. The Business visa has some restrictions, but is generally quicker in processing. Make sure that you note your conferencing dates clearly on your application - this will expedite the process
    3. ETAs - electronic visas. Certain countries ONLY (specified on the web site) may apply for these; the cost is reduced, and the application time expedited!
    4. Customs clearance
